A quote from Bishop Gene Robinson from his lecture at the University of Kent at Canterbury in July 2008,

"The most political thing you can do as a Gay person,

                                  'is be Out'."

Canterbury Area Gay Mens Group is a small 'non-commercial' social group, with social events, a regular newsletters, and a contact list.

The group now boasts a membership that encompasses most of Kent, including Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Thanet, the Dover, Deal and Sandwich area, plus Ashford & Maidstone, with even the occasional visitor from London

As well as having social events that are advertised in the Social Diary of the newsletter, CAGMG has a Social Network Sytem, or 'Email-Tree,' which is ideal for spontanious events. (There is an example of how an 'Email-Tree' works, on the next page.)

As indicated earlier, CAGMG offers a regular newsletter which is free to members which comes out about five or six times a year.

The newsletter contains pieces of local information, things that are going on, news items, the groups comming social events, snippets of gossip, and even has a 'page three' equivalent, in the form of 'Hunk of the Month.'

Members are not only welcome but encouraged to contribute to the newsletter.
